Evan Rachel Wood
Evan Rachel Wood was born on the 7th of
September, 1987 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her father, Ira David Wood III is a
theater actor, writer and director, as is her mother, Sara Wood, is an actor as
well as acting coach. She is the daughter of Dana Wood, a musician and Ira
David Wood III, an actor. Evan as well as her brothers appeared in the Theatre
In The Park, Raleigh in the same place where her father serves as the executive
director. At the age five she screen-tested against Kirsten Dunst for her lead
role in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) after a long
auditioning process. In 1996, she moved to Los Angeles along with her brother
Ira and mom. She has appeared in television shows film, feature films, and
television movies since. She was in Practical Magic (1998), starred in the
comedic S1m0ne (2002) as Al Pacino's daughter, and the film followed with
Thirteen (2003) which starred Holly Hunter. Her breakout role as Tracy on
"Thirteen" was rewarded with a Golden Globes nomination and a Screen
Actors Guild Award nomination. She was the first actress to be nominated for a
Leading Role award at the time. She received a Golden Globe and Emmy nomination
for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie" for her
portrayal of Veda Pierce in the HBO mini-series Mildred Pierce (2011). Also,
acclaim was awarded to her role as Stephanie (Mickey RourkeĆ¢€™s ex-wife) in
Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler (2008). She is the daughter of Sara Wood and
Ira David Wood III. Ira David Wood III's younger sister. Dancer trained. She is
a lover of dancing, sing, rollblade, and even horseback ride. She holds the
black belt from tae kwon do. She stays in touch with a lot of her Once and
Again (1999 castmates: Mischa Barrton, Julia Whelan and Shane West.
